Redding Kitchen Remodel with Custom Granite Island and Quartz Countertops

A beautiful modern kitchen in a white and cream color palette with custom tile work by Ceramic Designs in a Redding home

This project focused on updating the kitchen surfaces while keeping the existing layout intact. We worked alongside Sandy Bade of Red Door Redesign to make sure the new countertops felt considered within the larger space. The goal was to bring in contrast, improve the overall flow of materials, and give the kitchen a more finished look without changing the footprint.

For this project, we removed the old countertops and installed two new surfaces chosen for their different visual qualities. The island features Indian Premium Black Polished Granite Slab, cut in an irregular shape that gives it a more custom, sculptural feel. Its darker tone anchors the room and adds weight to the center of the kitchen.

The perimeter counters were done in Q Solitaj Plus Polished Quartz by MSI. This quartz has a soft, light appearance with subtle movement, which works well around the edges of the room and keeps the kitchen feeling bright. Using granite on the island and quartz on the perimeter creates a clear material contrast, while still keeping the palette simple and cohesive.
